Several different federal agencies hold government auctions. The General Services Administration is the granddaddy of them all, because it sells on behalf of other departments. When a federal agency no longer needs something — say, a pickup truck — it reports the truck to GSA, which first offers it to other federal agencies and then to state and local governments or nonprofits. If nobody claims the truck, then the GSA auctions it off to the public, and you get your chance at it.

The goods you buy from government auctions are “as is.” Look on the “Terms and Conditions” page before bidding to understand the process. A typical auction page states, for example, that the auction site doesn’t guarantee the quality of the product in any way. Once you bid, you enter a legally binding contract, and you need to follow through with your bid.

Bidding. Get some information about the type of bidding that normally occurs at these auctions. Feel free to ask the consultant about the expected price of a particular vehicle. When the auction starts, raise your hand and registration number card high in the air so the auctioneer can see you. Bids can be in increments of $100, $250 or even $500. This will be up to the auctioneer's discretion. Before bidding, remember that once a bid is made it cannot be withdrawn. Once the bid is won then the bid cards must be immediately filled out and signed. If this is not done then the vehicle can be re-offered. The government can reject any bid
Auction will include Bronto Skylift, Wheel Loaders, Hyd. Excavators, Skid Steer Loaders, Loader/Backhoes, Forklifts, Dump Trucks, Street Sweepers, Truck Tractors, Bucket Trucks, Ag Tractors, Crane Trucks, Trenchers, Lowboys, Boring Machines, & Much More. See auction inspection information below and come check out this equipment for yourself! Bidding will be live in person and simulcast live online.
Inspect the vehicles. Attend the preview times (sometimes a day or two before the auction or earlier that day), and check out the vehicles that fit your interest. During these times, you can carefully look at the car's interior and exterior, and you can start the engine but not go out for a test drive. In all cases, the vehicles are sold as-is, so take into account the possibility of costly mechanical problems. The auction company will sometimes provide information only if it's critical to the safety of the vehicle, but all vehicles in these auctions are deemed roadworthy. It might be a good idea to take your trusty mechanic along to the preview so you can get his or her gut feeling about the vehicle.
Every month across the United States, thousands of vehicles are seized by different Government agencies (IRS, DEA, FBI) and Police departments and auctioned off to the public at incredible deals. Due to certain laws these vehicles are listed and sold at up to 95% OFF their original value. Many auctions start as low as $100. Government pre-owned/surplus vehicles are well maintained and are usually only 2-3 yrs old. We provide you with immediate access to 4,000+ updated auctions nationwide, NOT searchable elsewhere on the Internet and with guaranteed listings in every state. If you are looking for quality cheap cars then check out US government auctions today.
The majority of the vehicles found at local auctions will need some work done to them in order to be deemed “road-worthy.” Knowing this before you ever set foot on the grounds is a major part of deciding if this is the right way for you to source an automobile. A low bid on a crappy car has the potential to leave you stranded on the side of the road, so if you aren’t a savvy DIY wrencher, you’d better have one hell of a trustworthy mechanic.
Throughout the year, property that has been collected at various buildings and property that residents find are turned into the police station. After certain periods of time, as specified by law and after attempting to locate an owner or hoping the owner will call us looking for it, the Evidence Section may dispose of property that is no longer required to be stored. In the past, the Evidence Section in conjunction with the UCF Student Government would conduct an on-campus auction where this type property was auctioned to the highest bidder. Today, the UCF Police Department utilizes the services of Propertyroom.com an online auction site specializing in property from police agencies across the country, to auction off all of our abandoned, stolen, lawfully seized, or unclaimed property of all types, remaining unclaimed for 30 days or more. This is an ongoing auction available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Items being auctioned included electronics, jewelry, clothing, bicycles, tools, sporting equipment and other items. The official web site is www.propertyroom.com.
